on 10/17 i drove into SF to share a story of heartbreak or joy with this woman, Crow, who i met during inkBoat’s performances at Hyde St. Pier:

Crow listened intently, then sang her beautiful response back to me as part of practice for something she’ll be doing with audience members during Degenerate Art Ensemble’s upcoming show at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts.

it was touching and special to have someone do the action of listening and singing back.

i was glad to have the opportunity to participate.

and i realized: i don’t have many stories of heartbreak, and i don’t cling to them once they are past. they are past.

i also realized, in considering stories of joy: they are everywhere, all the time, in the moment, and often very simple.
