In the beginning
there was a woman
cloaked
standing on the precipice
of a high cliff
overlooking
civilizations, lands
some open space
some filled with people.
And she opened her throat
and a great clarion call came through ~
with strength,
heartbreak,
glory.
There were other times
when the throat opened
and out came mewls
howls
despair
rage
great sorrow
weeping.
And,
sometimes,
there was
laughter ~
open-throated
hilarious
giddy.
There was a diamond
that shone in her throat.
There was Light.
It suffused her entire form
and beyond her form.
It came crashing down through her
exploding
expanding
in a million shards
in a zillion rays
throughout and throughout
annihilating
all and all
except All
in its path.
Light.
There was Light.
And there was Darkness~
the greatest silentest darkness
beyond darkness
prior to all
the negative
the vacuum.
And then there were
the ittiest flickers of life
blip blip
a wave
a pulse
pulse pulse
filaments
undulating.
Life.
Cells
dividing
then dividing,
again.
Small and big.
Big and small.
Eternal
beyond size
and sizing.
And Life grew
pulsating.
There was bliss
There was suffering
which came from
resisting
that which was
or is.
There was a woman
standing on the precipice
at dawn
and her throat
her throat
she opened.
And Music came
A diamond
And it was good.
And she continued opening that throat
Because it was Right
Because it was what she was here to do
Because it was what she was
by nature and design
meant to do.
And it was Wanted.
Needed.
Part of the Whole.
As the trees
unfurling out of the earth
are part
part of the Whole.
Roots reaching
Arms expanding
upwards
towards Light
towards Death
towards that Eternal Cycle
of which we All are a part.
